Fair Trade Carnivale at The Deli

We are holding our first fundraiser on Thursday March 12 at the Deli, 309 White St., starting at 7 p.m. There will be a five-dollar cover at the door.

The show's theme is "Carnivale" and will contain costumes, face painting, fortune telling, door prizes, and music of many genres. Acts in order of appearance are Whiskey Trio, Extra Ginger (sans Blake), Zebre, Syloken, Thumper (w/ Boyd Littell), and Galapagos. Local DJs will also play throughout the night.

A series of door prizes will be provided by sponsors Native Roots Market, Cafe Plaid, The Earth Natural Foods and Deli, and Forward Foods. Winning ticket holders must be present to win. All proceeds from this event go to NFT’s efforts to encourage fair trade in the Norman community. Please join us in supporting Fair Trade in Norman.

Tabling at the OU Memorial Union

We were at the Oklahoma Memorial Union today with a poster board display on Fair Trade telling people about our campaign on campus as well as in Norman, in general. We were able to get a lot of people to sign on our petition to make OU 100% Fair Trade. We currently have over 900 signatures and we hope to collect at least a 1000 before approaching President Boren with our request.

In addition, New York City has also passed a Fair Trade Resolution.
