The Fair Trade Certified label helps you make choices, with the confidence that your product is socially and environmentally sustainable. Join us for an evening of Fair Trade as we learn first-hand from a real life sugar farmer!
Individual sugarcane farmers in Paraguay have low bargaining power, little access to price and market information, and low prices that fail to provide sustainable livelihoods for their families. In 1999, Cañera del Sur Sugar Cooperative became Fair Trade Certified. Francisco Ferreira, cooperative President, will share how Fair Trade empowers the farmers to receive better prices as well as receive funds for community projects.
Doors will open at 6:30 PM with a mini Fair Trade market. At 7:00vPM, we'll watch a short film about Fair Trade and our speaker will begin at 7:15vPM.

yea, norman, oklahoma! great to see such a motivated organization that is sharing important fair trade practices and principles. it is all about education! i've been part of the chicago fair trade movement for many years and it has been a great experience to see the advocacy and education taking place in the world of fair trade.
